Assembly
If possible, start the day with a short talk to the school's assembly.
Why I am visiting, how I'm going to help them, why posture & safe
lifting is so important, and the fun we're going to have on the field.
Fun Class-Based
Sessions
Telling a child to "sit up straight" in the classroom doesn't work. But
showing them on the playing field how posture makes them stronger, makes
them look better at the school formal, makes them more employable and
saves them injury has been a highly successful program running with
children for years.
Both students and teachers will get a lot of
fun tips & tricks, and the inspiration, to remind them about posture,
lifting and the prevention of injury. Children actually will DO
this after they go away.
Lunchtime 'elite
performance' clinic
Elite athletes are often identified early. A 30min lunchtime
FUN session for those interested in training to Olympic & elite
level in their sport or career. Teachers encouraged
to attend!
Parent Teacher Evenings
It is important that parents understand their school is doing the best
they can to improve posture and prevent injury.
In this specific parent session, we will talk about reducing the risk of
injury to the child, lifting & carrying, sports injury and injury at the
desk with laptops, crossed legs and poor sitting...and how to
encourage kids to "sit up straight: when it's "uncool".
