Quick Tip to Improve
Co-Ordination & the Horse Rider's Independent Seat

from Jason Shore

This email, received from Jason Shore, is currently going around all the email mailing lists, so I am not sure where it originated....but it's brilliant!

Bet you can't do it !

This will boggle your mind, and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot - but it seems it's pre-programmed in your brain!!

1.  While sitting where you are at your desk, in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.

2.  Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand.

Does your foot change direction?

 The "Independent Seat"

With a bit of training, you can eventually do it.  This is brilliant training for the horse rider's "independent seat" where the rider has to do one thing with their hands, another with their bottom, and something different with their legs, such as in flying changes.

Keep practicing!!

This tip is easier than trying crazy (but fun!)  things like the this to improve co-ordination!
