101 Ways to Improve Your Riding:
Seat Posture & Balance

10 Best Tips to Improve the
Rider's Head

 5.     QUICK FIX:  The Sticky Tape Fix!

I have devoted an entire section to this one thing because it works, it's INSTANT and it's DEAD EASY!   Please go and give it a go, and do not underestimate it's ability to fix you instantly.

For many years I have asked pupils to look up, or keep their helmet level to the ground, and we have tried videos, mirrors and constant  nagging, and sooner or later they look down again.

Recently in Adelaide a lady said to me at the beginning of the lesson that her No. 1. major problem that she had never been able to fix, even after years and years of training (she was a very nice rider) is that she still looked down.

I had done this with the kids many times, but not really done it with a higher level rider.  I got a small piece of masking tape and had her put it down the front of her throat ... INSTANT FIX!

If you crinkle every single time you look down, and crease every time you tip or tilt your head, you will be fixed faster than any other method I know to date.

The scientists would call this "biofeedback".  I call it a cheap, easy way to fix one of the most difficult problems to fix...the rider's head carriage.
